What’s the most exciting way to play tic-tac-toe? According to our daughter, Audrey, it’s: Winner eats all!
Your kids can play this game of edible tic-tac-toe on a placemat or plate with clean Popsicle sticks or chopsticks. (You can play, too, while you cook; it’s a great way to have fun while something is simmering or baking.) The sticks are used to form the traditional tic-tac-toe grid. For playing pieces, slice two different vegetables, say carrots and cucumbers (cut enough to play three or four games). The carrots represent the Xs, and the cucumbers the Os, or vice versa. Of course, both children can eat the pieces after a game; perhaps the winner gets to choose different vegetables that will be used as playing pieces for the next round.
Not only will your kids improve their tic-tac-toe technique and pass some enjoyable time while you’re working on dinner, but they’ll get a healthy snack in the process!
